The Governor of the Kemerovo Region

Sergey Tsivilev

Dear friends!

Kuzbass and the Far East are separated by considerable distance, but we are connected by hundreds of powerful partner threads. Products of our basic industries like coal, metallurgical, chemical, coming to hundreds of millions tons per year, are sent by railroad to the Far East, and then from there via ports – to lots of countries of the world. The prosperity of the enormous territory from the Urals to the Pacific Ocean largely depends on the close cooperation between all the sections of this huge mechanism. Therefore, participation of Kuzbass in the work of the Eastern Economic Forum seems to us extremely important in the conditions of close interaction.

I hope that the exposition of our exhibition pavilion in the «Street of the Far East» will help people see Kuzbass in all its diversity: as a highly urbanized region with developed industrial infrastructure and efficient agriculture, as a powerful touristic cluster with a million tourists a year, as a region with a rich historical heritage and a harmonious family of one hundred and fifty nationalities. And the key thing, as a region open to cooperation in various spheres of our life!
